Extreme H and STEP Foundation Announce Strategic Collaboration
Extreme H, the hydrogen-powered motorsport series, and the STEP (Sustainable Technologies Engineering Pathways) Foundation have launched a new strategic collaboration aimed at equipping tomorrow's renewable energy leaders and leaving a lasting legacy in racing locations worldwide.
The STEP Foundation is dedicated to accelerating the transition to a sustainably powered future by facilitating accessible, hands-on STEM educational programs globally.
To deliver on this mission, STEP Foundation partners with Horizon Educational, who develop and own H2GP, a hydrogen education program connecting students, schools and industry through hands-on engineering and competition.
Through a global network of endurance races, H2GP students design, build and race hydrogen fuel cell-powered RC cars, creating a powerful, immersive learning experience that combines engineering, teamwork and innovation. The program connects thousands of students worldwide, culminating in an international World Final where top teams compete on a global stage, mirroring the innovation and performance seen at the highest levels of motorsport, the organization said.
This collaboration marks a formal recognition of each other's work in driving forward hydrogen technologies, and a shared intent to integrate elite-level motorsport with global STEM education.
"We look forward to supporting the vital work of the STEP Foundation. At Extreme H, we believe that motorsport should be a catalyst for real-world change, and there is no greater opportunity than inspiring the next generation," said Ali Russell, managing director of Extreme H. "By aligning our global racing platform with the STEP foundations' hands-on educational excellence, we aren't just racing for line honors, but are racing to equip the innovators of tomorrow with the skills they need to build our sustainable future."
Our collaboration with Extreme H represents a powerful alignment between purpose and platform. At the STEP Foundation, our mission is to create accessible pathways into the future workforce through hands-on, meaningful learning experiences in sustainable energy," said Nicola Weiss, executive director of the STEP Foundation. "Collaborating together allows us to connect that mission directly to a global stage, where innovation, performance, and real-world impact come together. We are incredibly excited about what this means for our students, our partners, and the future of hydrogen as we inspire and empower the next generation of engineers and leaders."
